SeatGuru.com show travelers the best and worst seats of an airplane with color-coded interactive airplane seating charts.

http://travel.nytimes.com/

This is always where I go first.  This is basically an online version of all of the The Sunday New York Times travel sections.  There are lots of multimedia features like video and slideshows.

http://www.tripadvisor.com/

This is a great place to get unbiased reviews and pictures  from other travelers.

http://www.hiphotels.com/home.php

Hip Hotels – Highly Individual Places, that make travel memorable.  This is a great site to see cool hotels from around the world.  The photography of the locations is amazing.

http://www.nationalgeographic.com/traveler/

The best part of this site if all of the photography.  Not only that, it is a trusted source for up to date information and will also give users tips for things off of the beaten path.

http://www.virtualtourist.com/

VirtualTourist is a global travel community where real travelers and locals share real travel advice and experiences.

http://www.travelchannel.com/

This site is a companion to the TV network but has more in-depth content about destinations

http://www.budgettravel.com/

BudgetTravel.com is the website for Budget Travel magazine.   Just a great site to help you to be more cost efficient while traveling.

http://realtravel.com/

RealTravel is another travel community where real people find and share travel advice and experiences.

http://www.petergreenberg.com/

Peter Greenberg is the travel correspondent for NBC news.

http://www.sidestep.com/

This is a fare aggregator site that will let you compare airfares, hotels, car rentals, etc..

http://www.roughguides.com/

I like Rough Guides more than most travel guides because they don’t only focus on the obvious sites that most other travel guides provide.  You can also find a five star restaurant on one page and the next page will be about inexpensive street food.
